Satoshi (Ash) is the animated Series' version of Trainer Red. It would a be a paradox. They are technically supposed to be the same person, so to have them meet would have them both go through some space/time thing where Satoshi meets his other self from another dimension, and thus would cause the fabric of space time to fall apart. :I
